How does asymmetric decentralization affect local fiscal performance?

In 2014, Israel adopted asymmetric decentralization by granting different degrees of autonomy to local governments according their fiscal and administrative performances. Employing a quasi-experimental research design on panel Israeli observed between 2010 2017, we analyse the impact performances with autonomies. The findings suggest that in enhanced share own-source revenues tax collection levels at more autonomous governments. However, cannot discern significant budget balance municipal debts.
